About Compass

Compass is a macOS application for daily planning and task management, built by Compass Labs. These terms govern your use of the Compass app and any related services we provide.

By using Compass, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Alpha Status

Compass is currently in alpha. This means the app is a work in progress — it may contain bugs, certain features may not work as expected, and features may change or be removed without notice.

We're sharing it early because we believe in building with our users, not just for them. Thank you for being part of that.

Your Account

You may create one account per email address. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you think your account has been compromised, contact us right away at [email protected].

You must be at least 16 years old to use Compass.

Acceptable Use

Compass is built for personal and professional productivity. You're welcome to use it however helps you do your best work.

What's not allowed: automated scraping or data harvesting, reverse engineering the app, attempting to interfere with or disrupt the service, or using Compass to do anything illegal or harmful to others.

Intellectual Property

Compass and everything in it — the app, its design, code, and content — is owned by Compass Labs. You're granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute it.

Your Data

Your tasks, notes, and other content belong to you. We don't claim ownership of anything you create in Compass.

We access your data only to provide and improve the service. We don't sell it or share it with advertisers. For the full picture, see our Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Integrations

Compass connects with third-party services including Todoist, TickTick, Linear, and Google Calendar. These are independent services with their own terms of service and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for their availability, reliability, or any changes they make to their APIs or features. If a third-party service goes down or changes how it works, some Compass features may be affected.

No Warranties

During alpha, Compass is provided "as is" and without any warranty. We don't guarantee that the app will be available at any given time, that your data will be preserved through all updates, or that any specific feature will continue to exist.

We'll do our best — but we can't make promises we might not be able to keep.

Limitation of Liability

Compass Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — Compass.

Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service. During alpha, that amount is $0.

Termination

Either of us can end this at any time. You can stop using Compass whenever you like. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

If you want your data deleted after stopping, contact us at [email protected] and we'll delete it within 30 days.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll try to let you know through the app or by email.

Continuing to use Compass after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
